Present: Mayor: Dick Beitz Councillors: Donna Connolly, Chuck Frenette, Wayne Junor, Todd Rydall Road Superintendent: Michael Hunter Clerk: Phyllis MacKay ON MOTION (No. 276-07) of Chuck Frenette, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves minutes of September 5, 2007 as presented. CARRIED S/Sgt Wes Moore, Sault Ste. Marie Detachment, Ontario Provincial Police attended the joint meeting of council and Laird Police Services Board. Statistics from June to August, 2007 were reviewed, as well as emergency management situations. ON MOTION (No. 277-07) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council closes the next portion of the meeting to discuss a personal matter. ON MOTION (No. 278-07) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that the council returns to open meeting. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 279-07) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves general accounts to September 18, 2007 as presented in the amount of $11,737.29. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 280-07) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves road accounts to August 31, 2007, as presented in the amount of $22,851.96 operating and $863.00 Long Point. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 281-07) of Chuck Frenette, seconded by Donna Connolly that council joins with neighbouring municipalities to complete 2007 Emergency Management Training, October 30, 2007. Councillor Todd Rydall is appointed second alternate to Reeve Beitz for emergency management matters. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 282-07) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council supports the City of Cornwall regarding its concerns of provincially mandated downloaded programs. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 283-07) of Chuck Frenette, seconded by Todd Rydall that council has Mayor Beitz attend FONOM meeting in Timmins October 17-19, 2007.
