Present: Mayor: Dick Beitz Councillors: Donna Connolly, Charles Frenette, Wayne Junor, Todd Rydall Road Superintendent: Michael Hunter Clerk: Phyllis MacKay ON MOTION (No. 285-07) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves minutes of September 18, 2007, as presented. CARRIED Cloudy Lake Road Association appeared before council to discuss improvements to Cloudy Lake Road. The type of turn-around for the road was discussed. Macdonald Township will be consulted about the entire road. Henry Goertzen appeared before council regarding OMEX reserve set aside for claims incurred but not reported. The 4-way stop at Lake George Road and Government Road was also discussed. Council will advise Laird Police services of this concern. ON MOTION (No. 286-07) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Chuck Frenette that council approves general accounts to October 23, 2007 as presented in the amount of $1,589.34 CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 287-07) of Chuck Frenette, seconded by Wayne Junor that the council acknowledges that the one year warranty period has expired on Government Road Project and approves payment of holdback of $6,126.24 to Gilbertson Enterprises. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 288-07) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves the Township of Stirling-Rawdon regarding its petition to the Provincial and Federal Governments to promote prompt assistance to residents who are dealing with the aftermath and repercussions of a catastrophic natural event. CARRIED ON MOTION (o. 289-07) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Wayne Junor that council advises Roger Fremlin that the Township has no intention of opening Calabogie Road East at this time. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 290-07) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Donna Connolly that council correspond with MTO Thunder Bay office advising that Bar River Road signs remain as East and West. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 291-07) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Todd Rydall establish "No Parking" on North side of Finns Bay Road from Neebish Road to end of Tortilla subdivision. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 292-07) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Donna Connolly that council closes the next portion of the meeting to discuss a personal matter. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 293-07) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Wayne Junor that the council returns to open meeting. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 294-07) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Donna Connolly that the council approves wage increases at 3.5% each for years 2007, 2008, and 2009, pass By-Law 866-07 and sign full-time employees' agreement, as discussed.
