THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LAIRD

ON MOTION (No. 310-07) of Chuck Frenette, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves minutes of October 17, 2007, as presented. CARRIED

Jim Erb of Cloudy Lake Road Association spoke to council about upgrades to Cloudy Lake Road.

ON MOTION (No. 311-07) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Chuck Frenette that council confirms its previous decision to allow a cul-de-sac turn-around at the "existing" end of Cloudy Lake Road, adjacent Lots 12 and 13. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 312) of Chuck Frenette, seconded by Donna Connolly that council denies rezoning application of Paul Boettger at 374 Calabogie Road, Pt Lot 18, RCP H759, Pt Lot 1 RP1R9737, Laird Township, as it does not view the application as land use compatible. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 313-07) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves general accounts to November 7, 2007 as presented in the amount of $28,371.17. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 314-07) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Chuck Frenette that council goes to Letter of Expression with the Township of Macdonald and others, regarding the sharing of a meeting investigator. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 315-07) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Todd Rydall that council confirms to Michael Allemano that it would not prohibit breeding kennels within the Township of Laird, provided adequate safeguards are included in the new by-law for noise control and other specific regulations relating to breeding kennels. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 316-07) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council attempts to book two rooms at the Fairmont Royal Hotel for the OGRA/ROMA Conference in February, 2008. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 317-07) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Wayne Junor that council corresponds with Laird International Raceway owner Mr. D. Varcoe regarding concerns at the Laird fairgrounds, as discussed. CARRIED

It was the consensus of council to deny Central Algoma Secondary School's request to use Laird disposal site.

MPP Mike Brown's office will be contacted regarding difficulties experienced during the past Provincial election.

Mayor Beitz reported on the Algoma District Municipal Association meeting held November 3, 2007 in Prince Township.

ON MOTION (No. 318-07) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Wayne Junor that council support MP Tony Martin's efforts to establish a passport office in Sault Ste. Marie. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 319-07) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Chuck Frenette that the council meeting be adjourned. CARRIED
