MINUTES OF MEETING NUMBER 36 OF
THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LAIRD
HELD 0N JUNE 25, 2008
AT THE LAIRD TOWNSHIP OFFICE
AT 7:30 P.M.
Present:

Councillors: Donna Connolly, Charles Frenette, Wayne Junor, Todd Rydall

ON MOTION (No. 108-08) of Chuck Frenette, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves council minutes of June 3 and 9, recreation committee minutes of May 27, and fairgrounds management board of May 15, 2008, as prevented. CARRIED
It was the consensus of council to redesign the disposal site as discussed.
ON MOTION (No. 109-08) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Donna Connolly that council request the Ministry of Transportation move the "Echo Bay" sign, located just prior to the Bar River Road, to a more appropriate area within Macdonald Township. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 110-08) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Chuck Frenette that council approves road accounts to May 31, 2008 as presented in the amount of $20,654.40. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 111-08) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves general accounts to June 26, 2008 as presented in the amount of $16,592.40. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 112-08) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Donna Connolly that council hire Kathy Willison as part-time employee at the disposal site.
CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 113-08) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Donna Connolly that council supports the resolution of the City of Waterloo in petitioning the Provincial government to provide long term and sustainable infrastructure funding to assist all municipalities in the Province of Ontario. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 114-08) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Chuck Frenette that council accepts, with regret, the resignation of Cody Jarrell. CARRIED
It was the consensus of council to support Laird International Raceway's 10th Anniversary with a Laird Township Appreciation Night.
ON MOTION (No. 115-08) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council request its representation to Matthews Memorial Hospital Association the policy for treating emergency patients from this area.
CARRIED
Councillor Junor reported on OMEX Insurance state of claims. It would appear that Laird Township may be issued more retro-assessments.
ON MOTION (No. 116-08) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Todd Rydall that the council meeting be adjourned. CARRIED
