MINUTES OF MEETING NUMBER 41 OF
THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LAIRD
HELD ON OCTOBER 15, 2008
AT THE LAIRD TOWNSHIP OFFICE
AT 7:30 P.M.

ON MOTION (No. 161-08) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves council minutes of October 1, and Laird fairgrounds management board minutes of September 18, 2008, as presented. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 162-08) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves changes to the disposal site as per discussions, and discuss area design at a future meeting. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 163-08) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Donna Connolly that council approves road accounts to September 30, 2008 as presented in the amount of $101,943.80. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 164-08) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves general account to October 15, 2008 as presented in the amount of $8,809.22. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 165-08) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves payment to ROMA/OMEX for retro-assessment in the amount of $57,173.25 prior to January 31, 2009. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 166-08) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council endorses resolution of the Township of Greater Madawaska in petitioning the provincial government review operations of MPAC with a view to implementing a system that sets the value of the property at the time of sale, then fixes the price, with annual COLA adjustments until the next sale of the property. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 167-08) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Todd Rydall that council endorses resolution of City of Woodstock in petitioning the provincial government fully exempt provincial sales tax on goods and services for Ontario Police Services similar to the GST exemption, and further that the provincial government exempt annual licence fees for municipal police vehicles as provided to the Ontario Provincial Police and fire vehicles. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 168-08) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Todd Rydall that council corresponds with ratepayer regarding concerns about Neebish Road reconstruction. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 169-08) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Wayne Junor that council responds to the St. Joseph Island and Area Food Bank and Community kitchens that council will attempt to do a drive with the North Shore Agricultural Society. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 170-08) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Donna Connolly that the council meeting be adjourned. CARRIED
