CARRIED ON MOTION (NO. 86-09) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves road accounts to March 31, 2009 as presented in the amount of $17,067.82. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 87-09) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Chuck Frenette that council approves general accounts to April 15, 2009 as presented in the amount of $6,924.50. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 88-09) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves tender of Boston’s of Sault Ste. Marie for half-ton truck, for a total cost of $20,566.00, taxes included. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 89-09) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Todd Rydall that council endorses sending a 100th birthday card to Reita Lapish. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 90-09) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Chuck Frenette that council supports Bill C-309 which aims to create a permanent Economic Development Agency for the Region of Northern Ontario, provided the agency be staffed by Northeast Ontario Personnel. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 91-09) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Todd Rydall that council appoints Kathleen Sutherland to the Pumpkin Point Park Committee, effective immediately. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 92-09) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Chuck Frenette that council passes By-law 885-09 regarding Inter-municipal Agreement with City of Sault Ste. Marie to support Provincial Offences Act. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 93-09) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Chuck Frenette that council authorizes tax write-offs relating to 2009 interim taxes as presented, in the amount of $21.25. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 94-09) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves Township Owned/Leased Vehicle Policy with amendment. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 95-09) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Chuck Frenette that council apply to Building Canada Fund-CC, second intake for bridge at Bar River Road and Lapish Road, and consider this project its highest priority. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 96-09) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Donna Connolly, that council closes the next portion of the meeting to discuss a personal issue related to staff. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 97-09) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Donna Connolly that council returns to open meeting. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 98-09) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Todd Rydall that council establishes Kenneth Tomlinson as a full-time employee in the position of machine operator, recognizing his 40 some years of part-time employment, by allowing eleven years full-time seniority, effective January 1, 2009, subsequent to discussion with road superintendent. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 99-09) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Donna Connolly that council approves By-law 886-09 authorizing mayor and clerk sign Building Canada Fund Communities Component Contribution Agreement, including Schedule “H”.
