MINUTES OF MEETING NUMBER 67 OF
THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LAIRD
HELD 0N JANUARY 20, 2010
AT THE LAIRD TOWNSHIP OFFICE
AT 7:30 P.M.


Present:

ON MOTION (No. 10-10) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves minutes of January 6, 2010, as presented. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 11-10) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Chuck Frenette that council approves general accounts to January 20, 2010 as presented in the amount of $16,098.42. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 12-10) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Donna Connolly that council approves road accounts to December 31, 2009 as presented in the amount of $32,703.98. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 13-10) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Donna Connolly that council approves purchase of generator for the waste disposal site share-shed from Red Star Electric Ltd. for a cost of $6,650.00 plus GST, as presented. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 14-10) of Chuck Frenette, seconded by Donna Connolly that council appoints Patti Gjos, Janice Briand and Lorna Robertson to the Main Recreation Committee, effectively immediately. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 15-10) of Chuck Frenette, seconded by Donna Connolly that council communicate with Premier Dalton McGuinty, that only one in four children and youth in the Algoma District and across Ontario receives required mental health treatment service and that council petitions the Provincial Government to provide additional funds to alleviate this situation. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 16-10) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Wayne Junor that council contributed $500.00 to the Canadian Red Cross in support of its efforts to assist with the Haiti earthquake disaster. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 17-10) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Wayne Junor that council supports Algoma District Service Administration Board in its concerns over changes to Second Career Program by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 18-10) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Wayne Junor that the council meeting be adjourned. CARRIED
