Present: Mayor: Dick Beitz Councillors: Donna Connolly, Chuck Frenette, Wayne Junor, Todd Rydall Road Superintendent: Michael Hunter Acting Clerk: Phyllis MacKay ON MOTION (No. 42-10) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Donna Connolly that Jennifer Moran be appointed Acting-Clerk for this meeting, March 24, 2010. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 43-10) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Chuck Frenette that council approves minutes of March 3, 2010, as presented. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 44-10) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Chuck Frenette that council approves Rezoning y-law Number 898-10, as presented for 81 Finns' Bay Road. ON MOTION (No. 45-10) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Donna Connolly that council sets spring clean-up dates for the waste disposal site for June 4, 5, and 6, 2010. Friday hours, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 46-10) Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves general accounts to March 24, 2010 as presented in the amount of $83,763.81. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 47-10) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Chuck Frenette that council approves road accounts to February 29, 2010 as presented in the amount of $11,703.16. CARRIED It was the consensus of council to set the next meeting date for Tuesday, April 6, 2010. ON MOTION (No. 48-10) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council goes to tender for Laid Hall roof as per plan of M.R. Wright, with separate tender for west side of roof. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 49-10) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Todd Rydall that council comments on Tarbutt Township rezoning application at 283 Town Line Road as follows: that special requirements concerning fencing and vehicle storage should be part of Tarbutt and Tarbutt Additional Township Rezoning By-law, as per Laird By-law 895-09. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 50-10) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Donna Connolly that council approves By-law 895-09, rezoning 7 Pine Island Road, as presented. CARRIED It was the consensus of council to enquire of the Heritage Committee its intensions regarding the Old Bluff School.  ON MOTION (No. 51-10) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Donna Connolly that council supports resolution of County of Huron in requesting the Provincial Government give assistance for residential repair or replacement of rural septic systems. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 52-10) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Donna Connolly that council request property owner of 50 Reids Road attend next meeting to discuss variance in previous rezoning application and present consent application. CARRIED Councillor Connolly discussed Algoma District School Board meeting she attended regarding proposed changes to Laird Central School classrooms. A meeting will be arranged with D. Varcoe of Laird International Raceway, Mayor Beitz, Councillor Rydall, Road Superintendent Hunter and grounds keeper, Roy Brockelbank to discuss clean-up of area.
