Present: Mayor: Dick Beitz Councillors: Donna Connolly, Chuck Frenette, Wayne Junor, Todd Rydall Road Superintendent: Michael Hunter Deputy Clerk: Rhonda Crozier ON MOTION (No. 126-10) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor, that council approves minutes of June 16 & 23, 2010 and recreation committee minutes of June 29, 2010 as presented. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 127-10) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves general accounts of July 21, 2010 as presented in the amount of $49,073.14. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 128-10) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Donna Connolly that council approves the purchase of a Zero-turn mower from Kentvale Merchants Ltd. In the amount of $10,168.87 CARRIED It was the consensus of council to purchase one load of top soil from Karhi Contracting to see the quality of it before more is ordered. ON MOTION (No. 129-10) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Donna Connolly that council supports FONOM's campaign to ensure that the Endangered Special Act, 2007 protects both the health of our communities, as well as that of our forests and wildlife. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 130-10) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Donna Connolly that council cannot sell or subdivide Block A in Defazio subdivision or allow a floating dock on such property and correspond the same to Shari Fudge. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 131-10) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Donna Connolly that council supports the Town of Atikokan in its request to the Minister of Transportation to give a directive for a thorough review of the Off-Roads Vehicle Act to include UTVs in the Off-Road Vehicle Act. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 132-10) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Wayne Junor that council supports Canadian Union of Postal Workers in its concerns over job and service cuts and people's Postal Declaration. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 133-10) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Wayne Junor that council appoints Colleen Orr and Noella Aikens as members to the Health and Safety committee. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 134-10) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Donna Connolly that council approves of adding Rhonda Crozier as a signing officer of the township.
