MINUTES OF MEETING NUMBER 84 OF
THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LAIRD
HELD 0N DECEMBER 15, 2010
AT THE LAIRD TOWNSHIP OFFICE
AT 7:00 P.M.


Present:
Mayor: Dick Beitz
Councillors: Donna Connolly, Chuck Frenette, Wayne Junor, Todd Rydall

ON MOTION (No. 208-10) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Chuck Frenette that council approves the minutes of December 1, 2010, as presented. CARRIED

A St/Sgt Todd Pelletier, Sault Ste. Marie Detachment, Ontario Provincial Police attended the joint meeting of Council and Laird Police Services Board. Board member Ralph Crozier was also in attendance.

ON MOTION (No. 209-10) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Todd Rydall that council requests the property owner of Plan H756 RCP Pt. Lot 2 RP1R3219 Part 1 obtain an Environmental Impact Study with a peer review on the said property which is to be completed prior to the issuance of a building permit; all costs to be borne by the property owner. CARRIED

Eero Lakkso spoke to council about extending the disposal site hours.

ON MOTION (No. 210-10) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves general accounts to December 15, 2010 as presented in the amount of $12,962.19. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 211-10) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Donna Connolly that council supports the motion adopted by the NOMA Board of Directors regarding Emergency Management Ontario's Field Officer Position. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 212-10) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council supports the resolution of The Central Algoma Rural Health Care Steering Committee regarding providing funding to assist with the Doctor Recruitment effort. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 213-10) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Chuck Frenette that the council supports the resolution of the Town of Bruce Mines in regards to appointing Mr. Gordon Post as the representative to sit on the Algoma Public Health Board. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 214-10) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Donna Connolly that the council meeting be adjourned. CARRIED
