Present: Mayor: Dick Beitz Councillors: Donna Connolly (via telephone), Wayne Junor, Todd Rydall Road Superintendent: Michael Hunter Clerk: Phyllis MacKay ON MOTION (No. 118-11) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves council minutes of June 1, and recreation committee minutes of May 31, 2011, as presented. CARRIED It was the consensus of council to grade Cloudy Lake Road, as required. ON MOTION (No. 119-11) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Donna Connolly that council approves placement of business sign for Tru Bite Tackle & Snags at the corner of Lakeview and Lake George Roads, as designated by the Road Superintendent. CARRIED Administrative and Planning Assistant Jennifer Moran reviewed Official Plan changes and requested opinion on hamlet area being removed from document. ON MOTION (No. 120-11) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves Draft Official Plan as presented by Administrative and Planning Assistant. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 121-11) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves road accounts to May 31, 2011 as presented in the amount of $18,325.27. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 122-11) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves general accounts to June 15, 2011 as presented in the amount of $10,156.13. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 123-11) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Wayne Junor that council requests solicitor draft clause for fire agreement to protect Laird Township assets. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 124-11) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council contributes $100 to Slave Lake fire fund. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 125-11) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council advises Bar River Road resident that it does not wish to entertain a noise by-law at this time. If noise nuisance occurs again, please call the township office. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 126-11) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council closes the next portion of the meeting to the public to discuss a personal issue. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 127-11) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council returns to open meeting. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 128-11) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Donna Connolly that council grants 15 month leave of absence for the Administrative and Planning Assistant, effective September 1, 2011, with assurances that she will return to the position or repay 50% of all education costs expended to date.
