Present: Mayor: Dick Beitz Councillors: Donna Connolly, Chuck Frenette, Wayne Junor, Todd Rydall Road Superintendent: Michael Hunter Clerk: Phyllis MacKay ON MOTION (No. 138-11) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Donna Connolly that council approves minutes of July 20, and recreation committee minutes of June 27, 2011, as presented. CARRIED Kathy Pauli and Drew Scallan spoke to council about East Neebish Island. ON MOTION (No. 139-11) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves, in principal, the conveyances for East Neebish Island, as presented. CARRIED Townline Road and Tarbutt Township road maintenance were discussed. Preparation work on 2.5km of Townline Road will be completed in 2012 and surface treated in 2013, providing budgets allow. It was the consensus of council to not take on Tarbutt Township road work at this time. ON MOTION (No. 140-11) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves road accounts to July 31, 2011 as presented in the amount of $65,041.01. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 141-11) of Chuck Frenette, seconded by Donna Connolly that council approves general accounts as presented, in the amount of $34,260.14. CARRIED It was the consensus of council to postpone work on municipal boundary signs. ON MOTION (No. 142-11) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Donna Connolly that council supports MPP Bob Bailey in petitioning the Provincial Government to fund specific tests for Acute and Chronic Lyme Disease Diagnosis. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 143-11) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council authorizes reduction on tax accounts, as presented, in the amount of $4.38. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 144-11) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves Livestock Valuers Report, as presented for wolf kill at 549 Bar River Road. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 145-11) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Donna Connolly that council support the Ontario Federation of Independent Towers in its concerns regarding Provincial Government proposal that would transfer the authority of vehicle impoundments from the MTO to the OPP, and setting up 56 zones across the Province, some of which may be many miles from the originating tow. CARRIED A joint Council and Police Services Board meeting is scheduled for September 21, 2011 at 7 p.m. It was the consensus of council to purchase a new laptop computer. ON MOTION (No. 146-11) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Wayne Junor that council confirms appointment of Lacey Kastikainen for position of Administrative and Planning Assistant on 16 month contract.
