Present: Mayor: Dick Beitz Councillors: Donna Connolly, Chuck Frenette, Todd Rydall Road Superintendent: Michael Hunter Clerk: Phyllis MacKay ON MOTION (No. 198-11) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Chuck Frenette that Council approves council minutes of November 24, and recreation committee minutes of November 29, 2011, as presented. CARRIED Kimberlee Evoy appeared before council to answer questions of civil marriage ceremonies. Connie Witty of Matthews Memorial Hospital Association gave a brief update of activities at the hospital, and new staffing. January 24, 2012 is the Annual General Meeting. It would appear that a number of members will not be seeking re-election. ON MOTION (No. 199-11) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Chuck Frenette that council authorizes the mayor and clerk sign By-law 917-11, enacting the implementation of civil marriage ceremonies by Laird Township. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 200-11) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Donna Connolly that council advises Lakeway Truck Centre that it reviewed the material dealing with trade-in of 1992 Ford snowplow truck and is holding to Request for Proposal submission and acceptance. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 201-11) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Chuck Frenette that council approves road accounts to November 30, 2011 as presented in the amount of $20,598.11. CARRIED ON MOTION (NO. 202-11) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Donna Connolly that council approves general accounts to December 14, 2011 as presented in the amount of $15,196.26. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 203-11) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Donna Connolly that council approves remitting By-law Number 916-11 to the Attorney General to establish set fines. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 204-11) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Chuck Frenette that council supports the Township of Muskoka Lakes in its efforts to have the municipal planning authorities consulted by the Province, with regard to development of renewable energy projects. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 205-11) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Chuck Frenette that council request the municipal solicitor comment on Ontario Landowners Association communiqué regarding privacy rights issue. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 206-11) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Todd Rydall that council host the 2012 emergency management tabletop exercise. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 207-11) of Chuck Frenette, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves 2012 insurance renewal of $47,817.00 before tax, as submitted by Algoma Insurance Brokers Limited. CARRIED The administrative office will be closed from December 26 to 30, 2011 inclusive. ON MOTION (No. 2011) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Donna Connolly that the meeting be adjourned.
