MINUTES OF MEETING NUMBER 24 OF
THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LAIRD
HELD 0N JANUARY 4, 2012
AT THE LAIRD TOWNSHIP OFFICE
AT 7:30 P.M.


Present:
Mayor: Dick Beitz
Councillors: Donna Connolly, Chuck Frenette, Todd Rydall

ON MOTION (No. 01-12) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Donna Connolly that council approves council minutes of December 14, and recreation committee minutes of December 20, 2011, as presented. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 02-12) of Chuck Frenette, seconded by Donna Connolly that council approves payment of $608.90 plus tax to Lakeway Truck Centre for extras on the new snowplow truck. CARRIED

Donnie Varcoe spoke with council about a number of issues that could be addressed in the new lease agreement. Council will hear all parties interested in this issue and draw up a new draft lease agreement.

ON MOTION (No. 03-12) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Donna Connolly that council approves general accounts to January 4, 2012 as presented in the amount of $4,384.21. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 04-12) of Chuck Frenette, seconded by Todd Rydall that council supports resolution of the Municipality of Clarington in petitioning the Provincial Government establish guidelines, regulations and Provincially regulated approval process to govern the quality of fill imported to a receiving site other than for the purpose of Brownfield redevelopment. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 05-12) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Donna Connolly that council supports resolution of the Municipality of Clarington in petitioning the Premier of Ontario requesting that if any municipality in Ontario receives special funding from the Province to cover a budget deficit that all local municipalities receive the same per capita funding from the Province. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 06-12) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Donna Connolly that the council meeting be adjourned. CARRIED
