THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LAIRD
HELD 0N APRIL 17, 2013

ON MOTION (No. 56-13) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Chuck Frenette that council approves council minutes of April 17, and recreation committee minutes of March 26, 2013, as presented. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 57-13) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves road accounts to March 31, 2013, as presented in the amount of $26,959.38. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 58-13) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Chuck Frenette that council approves general accounts to April 17, 2013, as presented in the amount of $13,496.60. CARRIED

Chris Graham of Central Algoma Fresh Water Coalition (CAFWC) spoke to council describing Desbarats Lake remediation, and also reviewed work of CAFWC.

ON MOTION (No. 59-13) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Todd Rydall, that council authorizes Request for Proposal on the two hall ramp/stairs refurbishing, to following all regulatory codes. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 60-13) of Chuck Frenette, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves signing of Laird International Raceway Agreement as presented. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 61-13) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Wayne Junor that council appoints Allison Bringleson as Livestock Valuer to assist current appointees. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 62-13) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Wayne Junor that council participates in the 50th anniversary of the Echo Bay Volunteer Fire Department celebration, as discussed. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 63-13) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Todd Rydall that council recognizes recent retiree at the Thank-you Dinner. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 64-13) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Todd Rydall that council recognizes Harry Lapish as the Township's Volunteer of the year for 2012. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 65-13) of Chuck Frenette, seconded by Todd Rydall that council petitions other municipalities in the FONOM area asking them to voice their opposition to Ontario Tire Stewardship's recent announcement on levies for off-road tires, including agricultural tires. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 66-13) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Donna Connolly that council petition the Provincial Government to allow side-by-side four wheelers on area roads. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 67-13) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Donna Connolly that council recognizes Earl and Coreen Mills on their 50th wedding anniversary. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 68-13) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Todd Rydall that council supports resolution of Prince Township regarding Ontario Rangers' Program. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 69-13) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council supports the Township of Wainfleet in petitioning the Provincial Government to not allow further wind turbine development. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 70-13) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Todd Rydall that council donates $300.00 to the Echo Bay Elks for Canada Day celebrations. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 71-13) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Donna Connolly that council authorizes reduction on Roll #3-01000 as per MPAC recommendation regarding Application 358(1), in the amount of $1,918.70. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 72-13) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council supports Township of the North Shore in its concerns regarding MAPC activities. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 73-13) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Wayne Junor that council let the Algoma District School Board know of its displeasure at not changing the name of the consolidated school at Echo Bay. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 74-13) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Wayne Junor that the council meeting be adjourned. CARRIED
