Present: Mayor: Dick Beitz Councillors: Donna Connolly, Chuck Frenette, Todd Rydall Road Superintendent: Michael Hunter Clerk: Phyllis MacKay ON MOTION (No. 95-13) of Chuck Frenette, seconded by Donna Connolly that council approves council minutes of May 22, 2013, as presented. CARRIED Jim Erb spoke to council about newly formed Diamond, Cloudy and McCarrel Lakes Steering Committee. It is at the sharing information stage and can be accessed at DCMLakes.com. Funding was discussed at $300 per township, as well as free use of hall. Protocol for height of dam is being studied. ON MOTION (No. 96-13) of Chuck Frenette, seconded by Todd Rydall that the general accounts to June 5, 2013 be approved as presented in the amount of $11,096.35. CARRIED A letter was received as a comment on the proposed rezoning application. ON MOTION (No. 97-13) of Chuck Frenette, seconded by Donna Connolly that council approves By-law 936-13 regarding rezoning Part Lot 8, Plan H752, as presented. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 98-13) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Todd Rydall that council recognizes Elaine Evoy as Senior of the Year at the Trefrey Centre BBQ, June 11, 2013. CARRIED Another quote is to be obtained on ramp plans. ON MOTION (No. 99-13) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves proposal for Laird township waterfront review as proposed by Patrick Li. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 100-13) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Donna Connolly that council approves 2013 budget as discussed with a residential rate of 0.01008357 which results in a municipal tax rate of .9999 of 2012, and passes By-law Number 937-13 confirming same. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 101-13) of Chuck Frenette, seconded by Donna Connolly that council honours Central Algoma Secondary School graduates from Laird with a $50.00 payment. CARRIED Summer meeting dates are set for June 26th, July 24th, and August 21st. Brian Smith, Chair North Shore Agricultural Society caught council as it was adjourning. Discussion took place regarding grant received in 2012. No volunteers are to be paid, and contractors must have the appropriate coverage such as Workplace Safety and Insurance Board certificates for jobs hired to complete.
