THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LAIRD
HELD 0N JUNE 26, 2013
AT THE LAIRD TOWNSHIP OFFICE
AT 7:30 P.M.


Present:

Councillors: Donna Connolly (by phone), Chuck Frenette
Road Superintendent: Michael Hunter

The Heritage Committee and Laird Hall Committee will be asked if it would like to see the plaques at the Knox Presbyterian Church moved to Laird Hall.

A newsletter will be sent out informing the residents that council was not informed of the Laird Central School closing barbeque, as well as giving tax information.

ON MOTION (No. 103-13) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Chuck Frenette that council approves Council minutes and Laird Fairgrounds Management Board minutes of June 5, 2013, as presented. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 104-13) of Chuck Frenette, seconded by Donna Connolly that council approves consent application of Lamming/Horner, Roll #4-116, Reids Road East and Highway 17, as presented. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 105-13) of Chuck Frenette, seconded by Donna Connolly that council supports the Municipality of South Bruce in its unwillingness to host wind turbines. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 106-13) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Chuck Frenette that council supports the Municipality of Huron Shores in petitioning the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs to initiate a material crop damage compensation program for all farmers experiencing financial losses, past and present due to the elk in the District of Algoma. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 107-13) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Chuck Frenette that council supports the Township of Killaloe-Hagarty-Richards in letting Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne know that it is vehemently opposed to the municipal ratepayers in rural Ontario subsidizing the transit system for the Greater Toronto Area. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 108-13) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Chuck Frenette that the council meeting be adjourned. CARRIED
