MINUTES OF MEETING NUMBER 57 OF
THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LAIRD
HELD 0N SEPTEMBER 18, 2013
AT THE LAIRD TOWNSHIP OFFICE

ON MOTION (No. 130-13) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Donna Connolly that council approves council minutes of August 21, and Laird Fairgrounds Management Board minutes of August 21, 2013 as presented CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 131-13) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Chuck Frenette that council approves road accounts to August 31, 2013 as presented in the amount of $21,421.59. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 132-13) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves general accounts to September 18, 2013 as presented in the amount of $42,188.74. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 133-13) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Todd Rydall that council advises Desbarats Cloudy McCarrel Lakes Committee that it is not prepared to contribute to its signs. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 134-13) of Chuck Frenette, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves ramp/stairs sketches as presented with an alteration to Laird Hall to have the railing open up adjacent the double doors and the man door.
CARRIED
Ministries of Environment and Natural Resources and Department of Fisheries and Oceans will have to be approached regarding construction of boat launch at waterfront property.
ON MOTION (NO. 135-13) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Chuck Frenette that council communicates to Laird International Raceway its concerns regarding advertising a Sunday raceway event prior to obtaining council approval. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 136-13) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Donna Connolly that
Whereas the Township of Laird recently experienced an excessive amount of rail fall which resulted in extensive flooding, on September 10, 2013, and has experience substantial damage to municipal property and infrastructure and has received reported losses of private damage, the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Laird hereby requests the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing to declare the Township of Laird a "disaster area" for the purposes of the Ontario Disaster Relief Assistance Program (ODRAP); and
Further, should the Minister declare a disaster area regarding the private component of ODRAP, Council will immediately, under the authority of ODRAP, appoint members to a Disaster Relief Committee to administer ODRAP.

ON MOTION (No. 137-13) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Chuck Frenette that council requests Jim Withers and Sally Kennedy be part of the Disaster Relief Committee should Laird Township be acknowledged as a disaster area by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing. CARRIED
Council gave its approval for the Clerk and Planning Assistant attend Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing Planning Conference in Sudbury, October 21 to 23, 2013.
ON MOTION (No. 138-13) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Chuck Frenette that the council meeting be adjourned. CARRIED
