MINUTES OF MEETING NUMBER 60 OF
THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LAIRD
HELD 0N NOVEMBER 20, 2013
AT THE LAIRD TOWNSHIP OFFICE
AT 7:30 P.M.
Present:

ON MOTION (No. 161-13) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Dick Beitz that council approves council minutes of October 16, 2013 as presented. CARRIED
Eero Laakso spoke to council about emergency management policies within the Township of Laird, starting back in 2004. It was explained that all Community Control Group members had been called after the September 10, 2013 flooding.
ON MOTION (No. 162-13) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves road accounts to October 31, 2013 in the amount of $18,260.15 as presented. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 163-13) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Donna Connolly that council approves general accounts to November 20, 20133 as presented in the amount of $39,536.83. CARRIED
The Road Department will move privy at waste disposal site to area beside pile of tires.
ON MOTION (No. 164-13) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Todd Rydall that council confirms its approval to be part of a joint Disaster Relief committee at such time as the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing confirms Laird Township a disaster area and money must be raised. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 165-13) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves entering into an Amending Agreement to continue receiving policing services under the current Section 10 PSA Contract arrangement with Ontario Provincial Police, and approves By-law Number 941-13 confirming same. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 166-13) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Donna Connolly that council have a “Watch for Pedestrians” sign installed in the Pumpkin Point
Road West area. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 167-13) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Donna Connolly that council supports CUPW, and writes a letter to the Minister responsible for Canada Post to request that the government consider innovative ways to generate postal revenue during the Charter review, including financial services like bill payments, insurance and banking. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 168-13) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves closing the municipal office, December 23, 2013 to
January 3, 2014 inclusive. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 169-13) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves By-law 939-13 approving the reduction of side yard of Lot 20, Plan H445, 242 Point Drive. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 170-13) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Donna Connolly that council authorizes changes to waterfront master plan and corresponding costs.
CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 171-13) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Donna Connolly that the council meeting be adjourned. CARRIED
