Present: Mayor: Dick Beitz Councillors: Donna Connolly, Chuck Frenette, Wayne Junor, Todd Rydall Road Superintendent: Michael Hunter Clerk: Phyllis MacKay ON MOTION (No. 07-14) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Donna Connolly that council approves council minutes of January 8, 2014, as amended to include closing resolution. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 08-14) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves general accounts to January 22, 2014 as presented in the amount of $9,832.07. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 09-14) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves road accounts to December 31, 2013 as presented in the amount of $47,722.84. CARRIED It was consensus of council to correspond with EDA regarding its suggestions regarding waterfront master plan. ON MOTION (No. 10-14) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves donating $250 to Rob Laframboise for Children's Perch Derby to be held March 9, 2014. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 11-14) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Donna Connolly that council supports East Ferris Municipality in opposing any tax on gasoline in support of the Greater Toronto municipalities' transit systems. CARRIED Council supports staff in its annual dinner. ON MOTION (No. 12-14) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Donna Connolly that council supports East Ferris Municipality in letting the Province of Ontario know that it is extremely dissatisfied with the proposed billing formula for OPP costs, and that the 73% fixed costs and 27% usage allocation of costs is not acceptable. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 13-14) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Chuck Frenette that council designates the Mayor and Clerk as signing officers and authorizes the execution of the Contribution Agreement regarding File Number SRN-CPY-050, Small, Rural and Northern Municipal Infrastructure Fund. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 14-14) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Wayne Junor that council closes the next portion of the meeting to discuss land and litigation matters. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 15-14) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council returns to open meeting. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 16-14) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Todd Rydall that council requests its solicitor respond to North Shore Agricultural Society's undated letter requiring a written proposal to present to council, for its consideration, with regards to fairgrounds ownership. Letter is to come from the Society's solicitor. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 17-14) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Donna Connolly that council advises its solicitor that it wishes to proceed with defending the appeal of court decision on Calabogie Road.
