MINUTES OF MEETING NUMBER 66 OF
THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LAIRD
HELD 0N MARCH 5, 2014
AT THE LAIRD TOWNSHIP OFFICE
AT 7:30 P.M.
Present:
Mayor: Dick Beitz
Councillors: Donna Connolly, Chuck Frenette, Todd Rydall

ON MOTION (No. 41-14) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Chuck Frenette that council approves council minutes of February 19, and recreation committee minutes of February 25, 2014, as presented. CARRIED
Melinda Freer, of Algoma Public Health, spoke to council about Health Kids Community Challenge explaining changes in lifestyle of kids regarding food, exercise, etc.
ON MOTION (No. 42-14) of Chuck Frenette, seconded by Wayne Junor that council supports Health Kids Community Challenge and advise that its 1109 population go towards minimum 10,000 population requirement. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 43-14) pf Todd Rydall, seconded by Donna Connolly that council approves general accounts to March 5, 2014 as presented in the amount of $35,576.82. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 44-14) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Wayne Junor that council comments to MNR on spring bear hunt as discussed. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 45-14) of Wayne Junor, seconded by chuck Frenette that council advises AMO of its concerns regarding the Prompt Payment Act, 2013 as it relates to municipalities. CARRIED
It was the consensus of council that all repairs to equipment within the recreation sphere requires a purchase order from the municipal office after the administrative office receives an appropriate estimate.
ON MOTION (No. 46-14) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Chuck Frenette that council supports the Town of Aurora regarding Municipal Recall Election Legislation. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 47-14) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Todd Rydall that council closes the next portion of the meeting to deal with litigation, property sales and personal issue. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 48-14) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Donna Connolly that council return to open meeting. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 49-14) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council offers back lots on Finns' Bay Road North to adjacent owners for price established by independent appraiser. All survey and legal costs above appraised value to be borne by land owners. Back and front lots must be joined with no separate sales possible. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 50-14) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Wayne Junor that council passes By-law Number 945-14 authorizing Mayor and Clerk sign Grant Agreement for municipal infrastructure funding under Ontario Disaster Relief Assistance Program. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 51-14) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Donna Connolly that the council meeting be adjourned. CARRIED
