THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LAIRD
HELD 0N APRIL 16, 2014
AT THE LAIRD TOWNSHIP OFFICE

ON MOTION (No. 62-14) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Donna Connolly that council approves council minutes of April 2, and recreation committee minutes of March 25, 2014 as presented. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 63-14) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Donna Connolly that council approves general accounts to April 16, 2014 as presented in the amount of $18,629.13. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 64-14) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves road accounts to March 31, 2014 as presented in the amount of $24,803.19. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 65-14) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Donna Connolly that council approves Asset Management Plan as presented and developed by Tulloch Engineering. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 66-14) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Donna Connolly that council approves right-off of tax amounts under $5.00, as presented for a total of $17.06. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 67-14) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves By-law Number 946-14 rezoning 105 Finns' Bay Road North. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 68-14) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Wayne Junor
Whereas the Lake Huron North Channel Cycling route initiative is to create a safe and continuous route from Sault Ste. Marie to Sudbury; and
Whereas the route is being developed to be primarily on-road which will provide economic, tourism, health and environmental benefits for residents and visitors as part of Northern Ontario; and
Whereas the vision for the Lake Huron North Channel Cycling Route is to develop a route that is geared towards touring and recreational cyclists which connects communities between Sault Ste. Marie and Sudbury as well as to connect key destinations and attractions; and
Whereas the Waterfront Regeneration Trust will be the coordinating agency of the route and sees it as an extension of the existing Provincial Waterfront Trail which is a continuous 1400 km signed route and will be part of a Great Lakes Waterfront Trail network;
Therefore be it resolved that the Township of Laird is in full support of Lake Huron North Channel Cycling Route and a partnership with the waterfront Regeneration Trust to implement the route and further that this resolution be sent to FONOM.

ON MOTION (No. 69-14) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves refund of $410.34 overpayment of taxes on Roll Number 4-15510. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 70-14) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves payment of rental fees of fairgrounds for the Algoma Amateur Radio Club as it relates to Emergency Management within the Township. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 71-14) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Wayne Junor that the council nominate Harry Lapish as senior of the year. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 72-14) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Donna Connolly that the council meeting be adjourned. CARRIED
