THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LAIRD
HELD 0N NOVEMBER 12, 2014

ON MOTION (No. 168-14) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves council minutes of October 8, and recreation committee minutes of October 28, 2014, as presented CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 169-14) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves general accounts to November 12, 2014 as presented in the amount of $221,760.75. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 170-14) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Donna Connolly that council approves signing of the 2012-2014 Fire Agreement with the Township of Macdonald, Meredith and Aberdeen Additional, as presented. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 171-14) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Donna Connolly that council approves the hiring of part-time office staff, on an as needed basis, during the maternity leave of current Planning and Administrative Assistant.
CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 172-14) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council advises Mr. V. Fremlin that his MFOI/POP request will be dealt with for those issues that can not be accessed on the municipal web-site, the applicant will be advised of the approximate fee that may be charged, prior to beginning any search. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 173-14) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Donna Connolly that council approves Municipal Investment Policy as presented, confirming regulations and current procedures. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 174-14) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Donna Connolly, that council supports resolution of the Town of Bancroft in petitioning the Province to implement a billing method for policing costs for properties in unorganized townships that that they may contribute their fair share. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 175-14) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that 60km/hr signs be installed on Bar River Road East to determine if signs are effective. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 176-14) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Donna Connolly that council supports the resolution of Town of Collingwood in petitioning Canada Post not to eliminate residential home to home delivery. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 177-14) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves By-law Number 955-14 updating municipal culvert policy with regards to installations in ditches within the Township of Laird.
CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 178-14) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Donna Connolly that council supports Township of St. Joseph and Algoma District Municipal Association in their petitioning Technical Standards and Safety Authority and the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services to review standards and time line for compliance. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 179-14) of Donna Connolly, seconded by Todd Rydall that council closes the next portion of the meeting to the public to discuss personal issues relating to employment and property standards. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 180-14) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council returns to open meeting. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 181-14) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council offers Tyler Bertrand position of By-law Enforcement Officer and Property Standards Officer, as per discussion. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 182-14) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Donna Connolly that council corresponds with Finns' Bay Road North residents that he/she must remove debris from wetland within 10 days. CARRIED
Good byes and well wishes were extended to Councillor Donna Connolly.
ON MOTION (No. 183-14) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that the council meeting be adjourned. CARRIED
