Present: Mayor: Dick Beitz Councillors: Ed Lapish, Todd Rydall, Frank Turco Clerk: Phyllis MacKay ON MOTION (No. 12-15) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Ed Lapish that council approves council minutes of January 7, 2015, as presented. CARRIED Errol Caldwell of Pumpkin Point Road East spoke to council again about speeds on Pumpkin Point Road East. Road Superintendent Hunter is to install 60 km/hr signs before any final decision of council, and prior to hearing from S/Sgt Esposto soon after February 28, 2015. Al Thibault of Finns' Bay Road North spoke to council again regarding pile of debris on the back lot area that has not been removed. ON MOTION (No. 13-15) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Ed Lapish that council approves road accounts to December 31, 2014 as presented in the amount of $37,549.21. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 14-15) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Ed Lapish that council approves general accounts to January 21, 2015 as presented in the amount of $36,523.67. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 15-15) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Ed Lapish that council approves write-off of tax amounts under $5.00 for a total of $9.77. CARRIED Macdonald Township will be asked on how much signs cost for its recent decision to have the township roads posted at 60 km/hr. It was the consensus of council to advise Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) that it would like to see the last sentence of Section 3. of its communication regarding pre-budget submission removed. ON MOTION (No. 16-15) of Ed Lapish, seconded by Frank Turco that council approves consent application for 760 Government Road, as presented, and advises Desbarats to Echo Bay Planning Board of its decision. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 17-15) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Frank Turco that council approves attendance of Mayor Beitz and Clerk MacKay at the FONOM/MMAH Annual Municipal Conference, in Sudbury, May 6-8, 2015. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 18-15) of Ed Lapish, seconded by Frank Turco that council authorizes those persons who wish, attend the New Council Session, scheduled by Johnson Township at the Johnson Township Community Centre Hall, January 27, 2015 starting at 6 p.m. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 19-15) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Ed Lapish that council approves the Mayor and Clerk signing Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund Agreement. CARRIED ON MOTION (No. 20-15) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Ed Lapish that council repeals Section 4.32 of Property Standards By-law 574-83, and passes By-law 959-15 establishing Yard Maintenance Standards, and applies to the Regional Senior Justice, Ontario Court of Justice for set fines.
