MINUTES OF MEETING NUMBER 6 OF
THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LAIRD
HELD 0N MARCH 4, 2015
AT THE LAIRD TOWNSHIP OFFICE
AT 7:30 P.M.


Present:
Mayor: Dick Beitz
Councillors: Wayne Junor, Ed Lapish, Todd Rydall, Frank Turco

ON MOTION (No. 39-15) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Ed Lapish that council approves council minutes of February 18, and recreation committee minutes of February 24, 2015, as presented. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 40-15) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves general accounts to March 4, 2015 as presented in the amount of $19,283.84. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 41-15) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council requests all committees that have rentals, to review same and report recommendations back to council. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 42-15) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Ed Lapish that council supports the Military Service Recognition Book with an ad, business card size, for $275.00. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 43-15) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council supports the Township of Gillies in petitioning the Provincial Government to increase the current exempt flock limit from 300 broiler birds to 4,000 broiler birds. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 44-15) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Ed Lapish that council petitions the Ministry of Health and the NE LHIN to increase funding levels to allow the Dr. H.S. Trefry Memorial Centre to continue its work of providing transportation, home maintenance, congregate dining, meals on wheels, visitation, respite and social inclusion for a healthy seniors population. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 45-15) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Ed Lapish that council recognizes the Town of Aurora's support for Bill 52 which should help protect and encourage freedom of expression on matters of the public interest, and discourage the use of the courts in ways that unduly limit that freedom. CARRIED

It was the consensus of council to have the Mayor available to the public on each Monday of agenda days.

ON MOTION (No. 46-15) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that the council meeting be adjourned. CARRIED
