MINUTES OF MEETING NUMBER 9 OF
THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LAIRD
HELD 0N MAY 13, 2015
AT THE LAIRD TOWNSHIP OFFICE
AT 7:30 P.M.

ON MOTION (No. 77-15) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Ed Lapish that council approves council minutes of April 22, 2015 as presented. CARRIED

Cheryl McClymont and Betty Comeau appeared before council to discuss drainage on Bar River Road West which will be looked at during the spring road tour. Donations at the share-shed were also discussed. It was the consensus of council that a locked box could be at the share-shed during hours of operation to allow those who wish, to make a donation. The box is not to be left at the waste disposal site, and turned into the office with each two week time sheet.

ON MOTION (No. 78-15) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves road accounts to April 30, 2015 as presented in the amount of $14,204.30. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 79-15) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Ed Lapish that council approves general accounts to May 13, 2015 as presented in the amount of $33,222.87. CARRIED

The road budget was received and will be discussed in detail, after the road tour, scheduled for Saturday, May 16, 2015 as 10 a.m.

ON MOTION (No. 80-15) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Ed Lapish that council approves By-law 965-15 reducing side yard requirements of back lot, to Lot 37, RCP H761, on Finns' Bay Road. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 81-15) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Frank Turco that council corresponds to request for extra Lakeview Road improvements from Lakeview Road residents as per discussion. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 82-15) of Ed Lapish, seconded by Todd Rydall that council corresponds to resident off private road that it can not assist with driveway upgrades. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 83-15) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council advises the Township of Macdonald et all that it is satisfied with the reduction in speed on Bar River Road East from the Village of Bar River to Cemetery Road to 60 km/hr and retain speed limit at 80 km/hr from Highway 17 to Village. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 84-15) of Ed Lapish, seconded by Wayne Junor that council contributes to Central Algoma Secondary School graduates from Laird Township as per past years. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 85-15) of Ed Lapish, seconded by Frank Turco that council, with consideration of Laird Fairgrounds Management Board input, applies to FCC AgriSpirit Fund to repair horse arena at the Laird fairgrounds. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 86-15) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council participates in Trefry Centre Seniors' BBQ, June 9, 2015 and honours Harry Lapish. CARRIED

Clerk MacKay reported on a successful FONOM Conference in Sudbury.

It was the consensus of council to donate $1,000, as a one-time contribution, to Central Algoma Freshwater Coalition, to be used towards a report on algae in Maskinonge Bay.

ON MOTION (No. 87-15) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Ed Lapish that the council meeting be adjourned. CARRIED
