MINUTES OF MEETING NUMBER 13 OF
THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LAIRD
HELD 0N AUGUST 19, 2015
AT THE LAIRD TOWNSHIP OFFICE
AT 7:30 P.M.

ON MOTION (No. 118-15) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves council minutes of July 22, 2015, as presented. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 119-15) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves road accounts to June 30, 2015, as presented in the amount of $26,532.28. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 120-15) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves general accounts to August 19, 2015, as presented in the amount of $245,034.04. CARRIED

Superintendent Hunter reported on surface treatment contractor and problems encountered.

ON MOTION (No. 121-15) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves quote of Custom Ideas for roof repairs at fairgrounds in the amount of $7,989.10, and gazebo at Pumpkin Point Park for $1,101.75, as per specifications. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 122-15) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council supports concerns of Suzanne Faubert-Astles regarding proposed closing of Ministry of Northern Development and Mines' Blind River Office. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 123-15) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council supports private members bill of MPP Randy Pettapiece which would ensure that all ridings, regardless of member status with the Government, receive fair treatment in infrastructure funding. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 124-15) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council investigates costs for an additional two bins, one for cardboard and one for commingled material, for the recycling area at the waste disposal site, from May to October each year. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 125-15) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council advises Elizabeth and John Hooper that the back lots adjacent 129 and 133 Finns' Bay Road North are in a wetland, and the municipality does not wish to sell them. CARRIED

Next month's meetings are set for September 9th and 23rd.

Councillor Rydall will check with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry regarding boat launching requirements.

ON MOTION (No. 126-15) of Frank Turco, seconded by Wayne Junor that council meeting be adjourned. CARRIED
