MINUTES OF MEETING NUMBER 14 OF
THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LAIRD
HELD 0N SEPTEMBER 9, 2015
AT THE LAIRD TOWNSHIP OFFICE
AT 7:30 P.M.

ON MOTION (No. 127-15) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves council minutes of August 19, 2015, as presented. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 128-15) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves general accounts to September 9, 2015, as presented in the amount of $17,921.03. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 129-15) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves road accounts to July 31, 2015, as presented in the amount of $31,482.70. CARRIED

Superintendent Hunter to contact Jim Flint about culvert replacement.

Algoma Power Inc. will be contacted about setting up a meeting, after council receives report from East Algoma Road Supervisors' Association.

Brandon Gough and Christine Irvine appeared before council on behalf of the North Shore Agricultural Society (NSAS). Concerns were expressed about the arena and portable fencing at one end. A number of issues were discussed. Christine Irvine will ask NSAS if they would be willing to assist with the refurbishing of the arena. An event scheduled for July 9, 2016 was discussed.

Edith Orr of Central Algoma Freshwater Coalition spoke to council about Maskinonge Bay's algae problem. One test was done and it was suggested that the other two be abandoned because of the high results of the first test. The committee is still $1,500 to $2,000 short to proceed to the next stage.

ON MOTION (No. 130-15) of Frank Turco, seconded by Ed Lapish that council approves building permit extension to December 31, 2015, for 105 Finns' Bay Road North, as presented. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 131-15) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Frank Turco that council donates $200 to the Association of Municipal Managers Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario towards the 50th Anniversary Zone 7 Workshop in Sault Ste. Marie. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 132-15) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Frank Turco that the council meeting be adjourned. CARRIED
