MINUTES OF MEETING NUMBER 15 OF
THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LAIRD
HELD 0N SEPTEMBER 23, 2015
AT THE LAIRD TOWNSHIP OFFICE
AT 7:30 P.M.


Present:
Mayor: Dick Beitz
Councillors: Wayne Junor, Ed Lapish, Todd Rydall, Frank Turco

ON MOTION (No. 133-15) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Ed Lapish that council approves council minutes of September 9, 2015, as presented. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 134-15) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves general accounts to September 23, 2015, as presented in the amount of $11,454.30. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 135-15) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Ed Lapish that council approves road accounts to August 31, 2015, as presented in the amount of $120,226.56. CARRIED

It was the consensus of council to inquire of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry what steps are to be taken regarding establishing a boat launch at the "wharf" property on Finns' Bay Road North.

ON MOTION (No. 136-15) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Ed Lapish that council approves By-law 961-15 rezoning Lot 18, RCP H757, 146 Lake George Road East, as presented. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 137-15) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council supports the Township of Macdonald et al in petitioning the Provincial Government to establish a special tax on the Unincorporated Areas that have direct road access through Municipal road systems, and that money be paid to the Incorporated Municipalities that qualify for assistance. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 138-15) of Ed Lapish, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves By-law 970-15 authorizing borrowing from the CIBC in the amount of $100,000.00. CARRIED

Maria and Al Thibault spoke to council about a meeting planned for Thursday the 24th at 3:30 p.m. with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry. It was consensus of council to have Mr. and Mrs. Ketola clean up municipality property by next Monday, or date advised by municipal solicitor.

ON MOTION (No. 139-15) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Ed Lapish that council closes the next portion of the meeting to discuss a personal issue. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 140-15) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Frank Turco that council returns to open meeting. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 141-15) of Frank Turco, seconded by Todd Rydall that the council meeting be adjourned. CARRIED
