MINUTES OF MEETING NUMBER 19 OF
THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LAIRD
HELD 0N DECEMBER 9, 2015
AT THE LAIRD TOWNSHIP OFFICE
AT 7:30 P.M.
Present:

ON MOTION (No. 166-15) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Ed Lapish that council approves council minutes of November 18, 2015, and recreation committee minutes of November 24, 2015, acknowledging misspelling of the word Bos. CARRIED
Residents of proposed realignment of Highway 17 at Bar River Road East spoke with council and expressed a number of concerns.
ON MOTION (No. 167-15) of Ed Lapish, seconded by Frank Turco that council communicates ratepayers' and council concerns regarding WSP Notice of Study Completion for Ministry of Transportation, and in particular proposed access road from Bar River Road East, southerly.
CARRIED
Members of the Wharf Committee attended the council meeting.
ON MOTION (No. 168-15) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Ed Lapish that council approves wharf committee quotes for road and parking lot work of Konka Construction in the amount of $10,819.75, HST included, provided all requirements are met. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 169-15) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves road accounts to November 30, 2015 as presented in the amount of $209,088.35. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 170-15) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Frank Turco that council approves general accounts to December 9, 2015 as presented in the amount of $23,826.63. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 171-15) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Frank Turco that council supports resolution of Municipality of Neebing regarding consultation on Police Services Act, with concerns about creating a two-tier system. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 172-15) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves transfer of $3,800 from park reserve to assist with extra costs association with emerald ash borer and tree maintenance at Pumpkin Point Park. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 173-15) of Frank Turco, seconded by Ed Lapish that council approves Municipal Insurance Program for 2016 as presented showing an increase of 1.5% reflecting asset enrichment of 2%.
CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 174-15) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Frank Turco that council confirms salary increases of $.85, $.75 and $.60 per hour for the years 2016, 2017 and 2018 respectively. CARRIED
It was the consensus of council to support the annual full-time staff dinner.
ON MOTION (No. 175-15) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Frank Turco that the council meeting be adjourned. CARRIED
