MINUTES OF MEETING NUMBER 22 OF
THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LAIRD
HELD 0N FEBRUARY 3, 2016
AT THE LAIRD TOWNSHIP OFFICE
AT 7:30 P.M.


Present:

Councillors: Wayne Junor, Ed Lapish, Todd Rydall, Frank Turco

ON MOTION (No. 16-16) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves council minutes of January 20, 2016, as presented. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 17-16) of Ed Lapish, seconded by Frank Turco that council approves general accounts to February 3, 2016 as presented in the amount of $8,906.24. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 18-16) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves road accounts to December 31, 2015 as presented in the amount of $46,552.25. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 19-16) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council confirms the decision to decline taking over administrative duties for the North Channel Healthy Kids Community Program. CARRIED

Proposed 2016 race schedule of Laird International Raceway (LIR) was reviewed. LIR will be communicated with, regarding Council's concerns.

ON MOTION (No. 20-16) of Ed Lapish, seconded by Wayne Junor that council advises the Town of Thessalon that it declines to be part of the petition to the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care to provide funding to construct a new hospital. Laird Council feels it does not really fit the criteria for being in the catchment area for the proposed new hospital. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 21-16) of Ed Lapish, seconded by Wayne Junor that council advises owners of Lot 21, Plan H747 that it would look favourably on a consent application to divide a 120 acre lot into two 60 acre lots. CARRIED

Council reviewed letter from Brandon Gough of Xcite Events regarding request for free rental to fairgrounds for Mike Case Memorial Music Festival. Mr. Gough will be asked to clarify some statements and the issue will be passed on to the Laird Fairgrounds Management Board for its deliberation.

ON MOTION (No. 22-16) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that the council meeting be adjourned. CARRIED
