MINUTES OF MEETING NUMBER 23 OF
THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LAIRD
HELD 0N FEBRUARY 17, 2016
AT THE LAIRD TOWNSHIP OFFICE
AT 7:30 P.M.

ON MOTION (No. 23-16) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves council minutes of February 3, and recreation committee minutes of January 25, 2016, as presented. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 24-16) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves road accounts to January 31, 2016, as presented in the amount of $17,718.01. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 25-16) of Frank Turco, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves general accounts as presented in the amount of $13,248.66. CARRIED
Peter Jurich spoke on behalf of others, asking about plans for the horse arena at the fairgrounds. A number of items were discussed and it was agreed that Mr. Jurich be invited to the next Laird Fairgrounds Management Board meeting.
ON MOTION (No. 26-16) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves amalgamated tender requirements, as presented. CARRIED
Replacement of the bridge over the Bar River on Lapish Road was discussed. Tulloch engineering will be contacted to ask for guidance.
ON MOTION (No. 27-16) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council reports to OCIF (OMAFRA) on its proposed expenditures for 2016, as per discussion. CARRIED
Donnie Varcoe will be invited to the next meeting to discuss his proposed race schedule for 2016.
ON MOTION (No. 28-16) of Frank Turco, seconded by Wayne Junor that council supports resolution of the City of Greater Sudbury in petitioning the Provincial government return OPP search and rescue helicopter to Sudbury from Orillia.

ON MOTION (No. 29-16) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council supports resolution of the Township of Wainfleet in petitioning the Provincial government to hold off on any further renewable procurement process until the capacity is actually required and focus on sources that will actually reduce carbon emissions CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 30-16) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council supports resolution of the Town of Aurora requiring the Ontario Municipal Board uphold any planning decision of Municipal councils unless they are contrary to the processes and rules set out in legislation. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 31-16) of Frank Turco, seconded by Wayne Junor that council supports resolution of the Township of Cavan Monaghan petitioning the Provincial government to review Issue 4.5.2 of Auditor General's Report and advise LHINs to demonstrate timely budget allowances with respect to Ontario's Consultation on Primary, Home and Community Health Care. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 32-16) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Frank Turco that council donates $100 to Retro Ride Committee in celebration of its 10th anniversary of this community event. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 33-26) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that the council meeting be adjourned. CARRIED
