THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LAIRD

ON MOTION (No. 34-16) of Frank Turco, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves council minutes of February 17, and recreation committee minutes of February 23, 2016, as presented. CARRIED

Algoma Power Representatives Dan Richards and Andrea Mattioli gave an overview of the companies proposed work schedule and other information.

ON MOTION (No. 35-16) of Ed Lapish, seconded by Frank Turco that council approves rezoning of Pt Lots 3 and 11, 763 Lakeview Road, to accommodate commercial activities of the bait and tackle business, and include hunting gear. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 36-16) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Ed Lapish that council approves general accounts to March 2, 2016 as presented in the amount of $62,218.24. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 37-16) of Frank Turco, seconded by Ed Lapish that council supports resolution of Township of Wellington and Township of Southgate in petitioning the Provincial government support Private Member's Bill 36, an Act to amend the Trespass to Property Act. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 38-16) of Frank Turco, seconded by Wayne Junor that council supports resolution of Municipality of Bluewater in requesting the Minister of Health and Long Term Care reinstate incentives for physicians to practice in rural areas of Ontario, and that the minister return to mediation-arbitration with Ontario doctors to reach a fair deal that protects the quality, patient-focused care Ontario families deserve. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 39-16) of Ed Lapish, seconded by Frank Turco that council supports consent application of Pt Lot 12 RCP H760, of 5047A Highway 17, as presented. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 40-16) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Frank Turco that council supports resolution of St. Joseph Township regarding alleged plan of Blind River District Health Centre to reduce emergency department hours to 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. only. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 41-16) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Ed Lapish that the council meeting be adjourned. CARRIED
