MINUTES OF MEETING NUMBER 27 OF
THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LAIRD
HELD 0N JUNE 8, 2016
AT THE LAIRD TOWNSHIP OFFICE
AT 7:30 P.M.
Present:

ON MOTION (No. 82-16) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves council minutes of May 18, and recreation committee minutes of
May 31, 2016, as presented. CARRIED
Mayor Beitz advised of relationship to Dale Beitz and commented on possible conflict of interest, before discussions on roadside cutting took place.
It was the consensus of council that Dale Beitz be hired to do roadside cutting.
ON MOTION (No. 83-16) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Ed Lapish that council approves 2016 Road Budget as presented in the amount of $536,616.00, including capital. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 84-16) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Ed Lapish that council approves general accounts to June 8, 2016, as presented in the amount of $22,701.32. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 85-16) of Ed Lapish, seconded by Todd Rydall that council confirms its commitment to the fairgrounds arena, and approves quote of Darwin Belleau in the amount of $40,087.09 (HST included). CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 86-16) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Frank Turco that council supports the Town of Latchford in its attempt to have the Provincial Government install wildlife fencing adjacent the Highway 11 corridor. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 87-16) of Frank Turco, seconded by Ed Lapish that council offers Lot 10, Plan H762 to adjacent property owners before offering to anyone else. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 88-16) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Ed Lapish that council supports the National Wall of Remembrance Association in its attempts to establish a wall of remembrance by donating a business card size advertisement. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 89-16) Frank Turco, seconded by Wayne Junor that council supports the Tay Valley Township in petitioning the Province of Ontario to increase funding for testing for Lyme disease and determine better treatment for long term outcomes of the disease and call on the Public Health Agency of Canada to create proper testing procedures and use existing best practices as already defined by other countries such as the United States. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 90-16) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Ed Lapish that council supports the Township of Gillies by expressing its concerns regarding cutbacks by the Provincial Government to behavioural therapy for children affected by autism spectrum disorder. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 91-16) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Ed Lapish that council approves By-law 976-16 allowing Laird Township to exit the OPTA Capping Program. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 92-16) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that the council meeting be adjourned. CARRIED
