ON MOTION (No. 176-16) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves council minutes of November 9, and emergency management program committee minutes of December 5, 2016, as presented. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 177-16) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves the road accounts to October 31, 2016, as presented in the amount of $30,284,22. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 178-16) of Frank Turco, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves general accounts to December 14, 2016 as presented in the amount of $26,639.51. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 179-16) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Frank Turco that council confirms telephone motion to purchase tax program from The Managed Municipality, and Dell computers from Unique Data Systems. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 180--16) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves admin office closing from December 22, 2016 to January 2, 2017, inclusive. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 181-16) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that Laird Township supports resolution of the Township of Madawaska Valley regarding Bill 7 and the downloading of more services to municipalities. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 182-16) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Frank Turco that council passed By-law 981-16. Adopting an Emergency Management Program for the Township of Laird. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 183-16) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council supports resolution of the Township of McKeller in petitioning the Province for access to infrastructure funding for fire departments. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 184-16) of Frank Turco, seconded by Wayne Junor that council supports the Algoma Fish and Game Club by donating $250 towards its Childrens' Fish Derby. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 185-16) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council supports resolutions of the Township of Tay Valley outlining concerns regarding Ontario's electric bills, and Hydro One's Strategy regarding hydro costs. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 186-16) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council supports the Township of Lakeshore in petitioning the Provincial Government initiate an immediate moratorium on the educational Accommodation Review Process until such time as a review of the impacts on small rural communities are studied. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 187-16) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council supports the Town of Richmond Hill, encouraging the Federal Government to review the Banking Act to allow postal banking at Canada Post. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 188-16) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Frank Turco that council passes By-law 982-16 authorizing the Mayor and Clerk sign Ontario Community Infrastructure Funding Agreement for 2017. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 189-16) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves insurance renewal of Algoma Insurance (Frank Cowan) for 2017 in the amount of $49,703.00. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 190-16) of Frank Turco, seconded by Todd Rydall that council agrees with proposed tower site at 149 Pumpkin Point road West, as described, and investigate the possibilities of increased yearly lease amount, and having a separate power source paid for by the leasee. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 191-16) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that the council meeting be adjourned. CARRIED
