MINUTES OF MEETING NUMBER 47 OF
THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LAIRD
HELD 0N APRIL 19, 2017
AT THE LAIRD TOWNSHIP OFFICE
AT 7:30 P.M.
Present:

Councillors: Wayne Junor, Ed Lapish, Todd Rydall, Frank Turco
Road Superintendent: Michael Hunter

ON MOTION (No. 62-17) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Ed Lapish that council approves council minutes of March 15, notes of April 5, and recreation committee minutes of March 28, 2017, as presented. CARRIED
Superintendent Hunter reported on the new grader, training and practices.
Council requested Superintendent Hunter straighten all road signs within the municipality.
ON MOTION (No. 63-17) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves road accounts to March 31, 2017 as presented in the amount of $24,821.85. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 64-17) of Ed Lapish, seconded by Frank Turco that council approves general accounts to April 5 and April 19 respectively in the amounts of $21,245.01 and $9,714.27, as presented. CARRIED
Councillor Rydall reports on wharf committee meeting. Costs will be looked at during budget deliberations.
ON MOTION (No. 65-17) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Ed Lapish that council amends Resolution No. 60-17 to have a start date of June 1, 2017. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 66-17) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Ed Lapish that council approves tender of Dale Beitz for roadside cutting and sweeping in the amounts of $72.50 and $52.50 respectively.
ON MOTION (No. 67-17) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves By-law 987-17 amending hours at waste disposal site. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 68-17) of Ed Lapish, seconded by Frank Turco that council advises Macdonald, Meredith and Aberdeen Additional Township that it will budget $12,500 for fire department capital in 2017. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 69-17) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Ed Lapish that activities for Annual Thank-you Dinner be planned for May 13, 2017.
CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 70-17) of Ed Lapish, seconded by Wayne Junor that council supports the consent application for 558 Rydall Mill Road, creating a new lot of 660' x 660' which includes house and outbuildings, and advises that no further residential units will be allowed on the retained portion. CARRIED
Triple M Metal will be contacted regarding a metal bin at the waste disposal site.
Councillor Lapish will investigate what repairs are required for the tractor pull sled.
ON MOTION (No. 71-17) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council advises ADMA that it will have one council member attending the April 22nd meeting. CARRIED
Excess road department equipment will be reviewed during the road tour scheduled for Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 10 a.m.
ON MOTION (No. 72-17) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that the council meeting be adjourned. CARRIED
