MINUTES OF MEETING NUMBER 38 OF
THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LAIRD
HELD 0N JANUARY 4, 2017
AT THE LAIRD TOWNSHIP OFFICE
AT 7:30 P.M.
Present:
Mayor: Dick Beitz
Councillors: Todd Rydall, Frank Turco
Road Superintendent: Michael Hunter
Clerk: Phyllis MacKay
ON MOTION (No. 01-17) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Frank Turco that council approves council minutes of December 14, 2016, as presented. CARRIED
Henry Goertzen appeared before council with several issues: 1) discussion of cenotaph; 2) no issuing plaques for 90th birthday/donate money to charity; 3) LIR clean-up; 4) Caputo Subdivision, give away lots with mandate to build; 5) Management Board, demanded members be added per NSAS suggestion.
ON MOTION (No. 02-17) of Frank Turco, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves general accounts to January 4, 2017 as presented in the amount of $17,608.89. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 03-17) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Frank Turco that council approves road accounts to November 30, 2016 as presented in the amount of $19,903.53. CARRIED
Road Superintendent to check generator at waste disposal site and advise admin office if further examination is required.
ON MOTION (No. 04-17) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Frank Turco that council advises MMM Group Limited, a subsidiary of WSP Global, that it does not wish to participate in proposed commuter parking lot in Echo Bay. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 05-17) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Frank Turco that council confirms agreement with Xplornet as revised and authorize Mayor to sign same. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 06-17) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Frank Turco that the council meeting be adjourned. CARRIED
