THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LAIRD
HELD 0N MARCH 1, 2017
AT THE LAIRD TOWNSHIP OFFICE
AT 7:00 P.M.

ON MOTION (No. 43-17) Todd Rydall, seconded by Ed Lapish that council approves minutes of February 15, 2017, as presented. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 44-17) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Ed Lapish that council approves general accounts to March 1, 2017, as presented in the amount of $10,231.66. CARRIED

Councillor Lapish will talk to the committee about estimates presented for rebuilding the G. E. Evoy Memorial Rink.

ON MOTION (No. 45-17) of Ed Lapish, seconded by Frank Turco that council passes By-law 986-17 authorizing the Mayor and Clerk sign OCIF Top-Up Agreement. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 46-17) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Ed Lapish that council appoint Tulloch Engineering to oversee the OCIF Top-Up Grant for the Lapish Bridge. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 47-17) of Ed Lapish, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves having the Desbarats to Echo Bay Planning Board enter into an agreement with Northern Information Technology & Geomatics Cooperative (NITGC)/Municipality of Wawa as presented in the amount of $20,000 per year, and invoiced as part of the Planning Board levy. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 48-17) of Frank Turco, seconded by Ed Lapish that council changes the hours of operation at the waste disposal site. Monday evenings will be eliminated; Wednesday hours will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday will remain 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. These hours apply year-round. Spring and Fall Clean-up will be Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 49-17) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Ed Lapish that council advises the Ministry of Municipal Affairs that it strongly objects to the proposed change to the Building Code, B080-09-03 requiring mandatory five-year septic tank pump outs, and placing the burden of enforcement and associated costs on municipalities. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 50-17) of Ed Lapish, seconded by Frank Turco that the council meeting be adjourned. CARRIED
