MINUTES OF MEETING NUMBER 59 OF
THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LAIRD
HELD 0N NOVEMBER 1, 2017
AT THE LAIRD TOWNSHIP OFFICE
AT 7:30 P.M.

ON MOTION (No. 146-17) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Ed Lapish that council approves minutes of October 18, 2017, as presented. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 147-17) of Ed Lapish, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves general accounts to November 1, 2017 as presented in the amount of $7,108.53. CARRIED
C. Burton Trucking will excavate two road crossings on Finns' Bay Road North, to accommodate conduit for future water and electrical services, provided the land owners arrange for required electrical inspections.
It was the consensus of council to change the backhoe blade and forks, as well as move the excavator to the shop to complete repairs, removing bucket and having it repaired.
It was the consensus of council to advise Roger Fremlin that the threshing machine is now inside a building.
ON MOTION (No. 148-17) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Ed Lapish that council approves draft policy regarding requests for property information CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 149-17) of Ed Lapish, seconded by Wayne Junor that council sponsors the Children's Perch Derby proposed for March 11, 2018 in the amount of $250.00. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 150-17) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves designation of the Knox Presbyterian Church as a heritage building, provided someone from the Heritage Committee completes the application. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 151-17) of Ed Lapish, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves request from property owners at 1456 Government Road to allow use of cemetery property as per agreement with a previous owner, and requests municipal lawyer draft the agreement. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 152-17) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves administrative office closing for Christmas from December 22, 2017 to January 1, 2018, inclusive. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 153-17) of Ed Lapish, seconded by Todd Rydall that council confirms acceptance of culvert quote from C. Burton Trucking, and truck repairs from Raker Innovative Services, as discussed. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 154-17) Ed Lapish, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves purchase of generator, to replace the nonoperational one at the administrative office, from Kentvale Merchants at a cost of $2,995.00 plus HST.
CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 155-17) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council sets next two meeting dates for November 22, and December 13, 2017. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 156-17) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Ed Lapish that council closes the next portion of the meeting to discuss a personal issue. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 157-17) of Ed Lapish, seconded by Wayne Junor that council returns to open meeting. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 158-17) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Ed Lapish that the council meeting be adjourned. CARRIED
