THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LAIRD
HELD 0N FEBRUARY 7, 2018

ON MOTION (No. 20-18) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves council minutes of January 24, and recreation committee minutes of January 30, 2018, as presented. CARRIED
Dan Richards and Andrea Mattioli of Algoma Power Inc. reported to council on several issues.
ON MOTION (No. 21-18) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves general accounts to February 7, 2018, as presented in the amount of $74,499.13. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 22-18) of Ed Lapish, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves amalgamated tender requirements for surface treatment, as presented. CARRIED
Four "elk" signs will be ordered for installation on Neebish Road East and West, in appropriate areas. Three "Caution, Slow Moving Vehicle" signs will be ordered and placed on Neebish Road East and West, and Pumpkin Point Road West, as discussed.
ON MOTION (No. 23-18) of Ed Lapish, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves amalgamated tender requirements for culverts, etc., as presented.

ON MOTION (No. 24-18) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Ed Lapish that council supports resolution of Town of Lakeshore in petitioning the two upper levels of government provide funding to municipalities for infrastructure projects associated with the sale of marijuana. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 25-18) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Ed Lapish that council allows property owner at 1473 Government Road to have his 30' fifth wheel trailer on his property this summer, and have it removed from same property, prior to December 31, 2018. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 26-18) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves insurance renewal of Algoma Insurance/Frank Cowan Insurance, in the amount of $56,335.00 for the year 2018. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 27-18) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Ed Lapish that council waives tipping fees of 105 Finns' Bay Road North, as shown on invoice #49077, in the amount of $155.00. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 28-18) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves By-law 994-18 setting tax ratios for 2018. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 29-18) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Ed Lapish that council approves By-law 995-18 setting 2018 interim tax rates. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 30-18) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves 2018 Committees and Boards, as presented. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 31-18) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Ed Lapish that council acknowledges the benefits or beginning the tax sale procedure at 2 years in arrears. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 32-18) of Frank Turco, seconded by Ed Lapish that council closes the next portion of the meeting to discuss personal issues. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 33-18) of Frank Turco, seconded by Ed Lapish, that council returns to open meeting. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 34-18) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that the council meeting be adjourned. CARRIED
