MINUTES OF MEETING NUMBER 75 OF
THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LAIRD
HELD 0N JULY 24, 2018

ON MOTION (No. 109-18) of Ed Lapish, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves council minutes of June 20, 2018, as presented. CARRIED
Trevor Herman of Calabogie Road spoke to council about spring flooding in the area of his house. The issue will be reviewed with appropriate staff and agencies.
ON MOTION (No. 110-18) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council closes the next portion of the meeting to attend to a personal issue.
ON MOTION (No. 111-18) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Frank Turco that council returns to open meeting. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 112-18) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Wayne Junor that council approves road accounts to May 31, 2018, as presented in the amount of $73,257.24. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 113-18) of Ed Lapish, seconded by Frank Turco that council approves general accounts to July 24, 2018, as presented in the amount of $107,902.76. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 114-18) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Ed Lapish that council confirms telephone motion that council approves tender of North American Construction Ltd. in the amount of $1,659,700 for replacement of the Lapish bridge and approves defined change order for value engineering agreed to, reducing amount of tender to $1,091,253.80. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 115-18) of Frank Turco, seconded by Ed Lapish that council approves draft sign for Laird fairgrounds, acknowledging North Shore Agricultural Society original members for their initiative in establishing the Laird fairgrounds. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 116-18) of Wayne Junor, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves Rezoning By-law 1001-18, allowing for north side yard reduction at 73 Finns' Bay North, from 6 feet to 4 feet. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 117-18) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Frank Turco that council supports Association of Municipalities of Ontario's resolution regarding efforts of Provincial and Federal Governments in protecting Canadian Jobs and local economies. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 118-18) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Ed Lapish that council replaces the yield sign at the corner of Finns' Bay Road South and Neebish Road West with a stop sign. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 119-18) of Ed Lapish, seconded by Wayne Junor that council request CP Rail allow the municipality permission to place fill on its property and be allowed to use it for a parking area. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 120-18) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Frank Turco that council advises North America Construction Ltd. that a bond is to be maintained as originally bid for replacement of the Lapish bridge. CARRIED
The next council meeting is rescheduled to Tuesday, August 21, 2018.
ON MOTION (No. 121-18) of Ed Lapish, seconded by Wayne Junor that council advises the Laird Fair that it has set its budget for 2018 and in the future requests it make submissions prior to council setting its budget and contracting for activities for the fair. Should the $175.00 deposit be received, a cheque for $500.00 will be forwarded to the North Shore Agricultural Society to assist with bringing Science North to the Annual Fair. CARRIED
