MINUTES OF MEETING NUMBER 5 OF
THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LAIRD
HELD 0N MARCH 6, 2019
AT THE LAIRD TOWNSHIP OFFICE
AT 7:30 P.M.

ON MOTION (No.24-19) of Frank Turco, seconded by Shawn Evoy that council approves council minutes of February 20, and recreation committee minutes of February 26, 2019, as presented. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 25-19) of Shawn Evoy, seconded by Frank Turco that council approves general account to March 6, 2019 as presented in the amount of $3,437.19. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 26-19) of Frank Turco, seconded by Shawn Evoy that council approves attendance at FONOM for those councillors able to attend. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 27-19) of Shawn Evoy, seconded by Frank Turco that council supports resolution of Township of South Stormont regarding its grave concerns with the potential reduction of the Ontario Municipal Partnership Fund support from the Provincial Government. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 28-19) of Shawn Evoy, seconded by Frank Turco that council supports resolution of Municipality of Red Lake in petitioning the Provincial Government reinstate Indigenous Culture Fund support to $5 million per year. CARRIED

ON MOTION (No. 29-19) of Frank Turco, seconded by Shawn Evoy that council supports Algoma Public Health's request to the Ontario Minister of Health and Long-Term Care to approve funding for a regional level III residential withdrawal management services facility to be located in Sault Ste. Marie. CARRIED

The clerk reported that the waste disposal site attendant is returning to regular hours.

The meeting scheduled for March 20th will start at 4 p.m. with training continuing until 7 p.m. Regular meeting to follow at 7:30 p.m.

ON MOTION (No. 30-19) of Frank Turco, seconded by Shawn Evoy that the council meting be adjourned. CARRIED
