MINUTES OF MEETING NUMBER 15 OF
THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LAIRD
HELD 0N JANUARY 16, 2020

ON MOTION (No. 01-20) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Frank Turco that council approves council minutes of December 12, and recreation committee minutes of December 15, 2019, as presented. CARRIED
David Euler of Sault Naturalists spoke to council regarding the importance of signage regarding significant bird areas.
ON MOTION (No. 02-20) of Frank Turco, seconded by Todd Rydall that council authorizes Sault Naturalists place signs regarding value of birds and biodiversity conservation at the bird viewing platform, Finns' Bay Road North and Pumpkin Point Park. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 03-20) of Frank Turco, seconded by Todd Rydall that council approves road accounts to December 31, 2019 as presented in the amount of $24,108.53. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 04-20) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Shawn Evoy that council approves general accounts to January 16, 2020, as presented in the amount of $42,729.05. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 05-20) of Todd Rydall, seconded by Shawn Evoy that council approves By-law Number 1018-20, setting interim tax levy with two installments.
CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 06-20) Todd Rydall, seconded by Shawn Evoy that council supports the City of Woodstock in its effort to ban single-use plastic handled shopping bags. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 07-20) of Shawn Evoy, seconded by Todd Rydall that council supports Association of Municipalities of Ontario in petitioning the Ministry of Environment Conservation and Parks to transition the Blue Box Program to full producer responsibility. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 08-20) of Todd Ryall, seconded by Shawn Evoy that council supports the 2020 Children`s Perch Derby to be held March 15, 2020, with a donation of $300.00. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 09-20) of Frank Turco, seconded by Todd Rydall that council supports MPP Michael Mantha's Bill 153 that would direct the Minister of Long-Term Care to provide seniors with the right to live together as they age. CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 10-20) Todd Rydall, seconded by Shawn Evoy that council accepts report of Planning/Admin Assistant regarding strategic planning update.
CARRIED
ON MOTION (No. 11-20) of Shawn Evoy, seconded by Frank Turco that the council meeting be adjourned. CARRIED
