NOW PROVIDES
CIVIL MARRIAGE SOLEMNIZATION SERVICES

The Township of Laird is pleased to advise that a Civil Marriage Solemnization Service is now available for any couple who prefer a non-religious marriage service.

The Township has contracted Kimberlee Evoy, Licenced Civil Marriage Officiant, to provide this service.

• To utilize the Township Civil Marriage Service, you will require a valid Ontario Marriage Licence, issued within three (3) months of the proposed date of marriage. A licence may be obtained at the Civic Centre, 99 Foster Drive, Sault Ste. Marie.
  
  

• A Pre-Service Interview, with both applicants in attendance, shall occur with the Officiant prior to the Solemnization Service. This meeting is mandatory and will be about one (1) hour in length. During this meeting, arrangements for the service will be reviewed and specific details will be agreed upon. The Pre-Service Interview and/or the Marriage Solemnization will take place at the discretion of the Officiant.
  
  

• The Civil Marriage Service will be provided at the location of choice of the couple being married and at the discretion of the Officiant.
  
  

• A minimum of five (5) persons must be in attendance at the Civil Marriage Solemnization Service; the Officiant, the two (2) applicants to be married, plus two (2) witnesses.
  
  

• Fees: $225.00 for the Civil Marriage Solemnization Service is to be paid at the Pre-Service Interview.
