Algoma Coalition was successful in 2007 in that Great Lakes Power Limited was required to hold stakeholder sessions and establish an independent review of the division of costs for capital and major maintenance of the company. Vehicles have been entering the fairgrounds and making deep ruts. The ground is very soft and vehicles doing "donuts" have caused a lot of damage which is time consuming and expensive to repair. If you see anyone on the grounds performing such stunts, would you please call Laird Township and Macdonald Township have met to discuss upgrades to the Bar River road, both east and west. Township road superintendents are to draft a long-range plan for councils to consider. It is anticipated that work, as a minimum, on Bar River Road will follow previous year's undertaking for 2008. It is council's intention to work the Macdonald Township to improve the condition of this road over the next few years. SPRING CLEANUP 2008 - Free days at the disposal site are coming up soon. In the past spring clean-up days have been Thursday, Friday and Saturday prior to the Victoria Day week-end.
