An Official Plan describes council's policies on how land in your community should be used. It is prepared with input from you and others in your community and helps to ensure that future planning and development will meet the specific needs of your community. The Official Plan has set out to be consistent with the Provincial Policy Statement issued under the Planning Act and conform to or not conflict with any applicable provincial plans. To Date: - The Township of Laird has a Draft Official Plan approved by Council and ready for the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing to start the Early Consultation Process. - A copy of the proposed Official Plan will be made available in the Township Office for public review, during office hours Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm. What we want from the community: It is important that the community take part. Any person or public body may provide written comments and/or speak at the PUBLIC OPEN HOUSE about the proposed plan.
